BetGuard brings centralized self-exclusion to Ontario online gaming
Ontario introduced BetGuard in May 2026 as a centralized self-exclusion tool for the regulated online gaming market. Instead of contacting each operator, an eligible adult can use one portal to take a break across the market.
One request covers regulated sites
BetGuard covers regulated operator websites and OLG. A person who opts out cannot access existing accounts, create new ones or receive direct marketing during the selected term.
Several periods are available
The program offers six months, one year, five years or a custom period.
Regulated-site checks still matter
Players should confirm the exact website through provincial resources. Gambling is for adults aged 19 and over in Ontario.
